About me
In 2019 we started a Proficiency-Based Education School in Green Bay, Wisconsin for students in grades 7-10 &12. Over the next two years our school expanded to 7-12. N.E.W. was modeled after The Academy, a program for at-risk 12th graders. Over the last 9 years we have helped more than 1000 students earn their diploma. Beginning with the 25/26 school year we will expand to 6th grade, and add a specialized program designed for 11th graders. Our school is focused on re-engaging learners. Many of our students choose to attend our school because they have not had a positive school experience due to attendance, behavior, life, SEL, or mental health.
N.E.W. is focused on intentionally building positive student and adult relationships. Our foundation is daily opportunity for students to have a soft landing spot and instruction that meets the needs of students on an individualized basis.
We have an established relationship with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, in which our students in grades 7-12 take a class weekly on campus taught by college instructors in Business, Trades, Advanced Manufacturing, and Health Science. This past school year more than 50% of our graduating class had taken and passed at least one college course at NWTC.
